Museum of Science & History (MOSH)
Located at the confluence of St. Johns River and Hogan’s Creek inlet in the historic Jacksonville Shipyards, the new Museum of Science and History (MOSH) will bring 5.4 acres of open space to Jacksonville residents and visitors—reconnecting the city to its waterfront while celebrating the ecology and hydrology of Northeastern Florida.
Building on the Museum’s mission to make science, history, and innovation accessible to all, the new landscape will incorporate educational features throughout, including play and learning areas that highlight native species (such as longleaf pine and bottomland forests). Museum grounds will also include tidal terraces providing water access; flexible event lawns; play areas; stormwater and pollinator gardens; an outdoor café and plaza; and more. A sheltered rooftop event terrace will also offer panoramic views overlooking the River and downtown Jacksonville.
The Museum’s grounds open up to reveal tidal terraces—creating a landscape that nurtures exploration and environmental education.
