SCAPE Associate Alyson Demskie’s research of the Pascagoula River in Mississippi was featured in Landscape Architecture Magazine.

For SCAPE’s annual SEED research grant program, Associate Alyson Demskie takes us through 110 miles of the Pascagoula River Basin for her project called Field Theory. Across repeated visits in different seasons and flood levels, Alyson canoed, camped, and gathered material along the river, documenting her findings through photos, artifacts, and sketches that revealed recent flood levels and river conditions.

“Alyson Demskie’s Field Theory project makes a strong case for the value of methodical site-based research and observation,” writes Elaine Stokes.
